AKA Tires: World-Class Performance

SHOP THIS PRODUCT

In the world of 1/10 offroad buggy racing, AKA tires have a great reputation for world-class performance. Endorsed by some of the biggest names in R/C, their soft tires and unique treads give unparalleled purchase off-road for winning levels of traction. So we stuck 'em on a Team Associated 1/10 4.1 buggy and gave it the beans.

For front tires we worked with a the AKA three-rib, for speed. The soft front tires are custom-designed to smooth out steering on medium to high-bite outdoor tracks - perfect for setting some off-road speed records. They came without inserts, but stuffing it up with some matching soft inserts only took a moment. Red wunz go fasta', doncha know.

With that kind of track on the front tires we needed something with a little more bite and grip to match, and we found it in the scaled-down AKA Gridiron EVO. It came preglued with wheel, so installation was a breeze. The 1/10 Gridiron takes the same design cues from its 1/8th bigger brother, and excelled on hard packed tracks, the packed rubber pins in the tire track cutting through dust to find traction.

The difference a quality tire made was immediately apparent when we let the TA buggy out to play. Even when we were fairly rough with the throttle, the buggy stayed solidly down and was a breeze to control. The grippy rear Gridiron tires allowed us to make tight, fast turns with minimal sliding. Two thumbs up.

Both sets are super soft with plenty of give, made to stick hard to off-road surfaces. As with all AKA tires, it's an all-American product, designed and made in the USA. We've got a great range of AKA tires in stock - click below to grab some now and feel the difference for yourselves!
