ARC R8.0E 1/8th Electric On-road Car

The R8.0E 1/8th scale electric on-road kit is an electrified version of the popular R8.0 nitro car and 80 percent of the parts shares with its nitro siblings. The chassis allows to use either 2S or 3S hardcase LiPo battery packs, which can be located close to the centerline for an improved weight distribution and maximized agility. The lower chassis plate is made from 7075-T6 aluminum for improved strength and stability as well as providing a cooling surface for the motor. The layout provides an ultra-low center of gravity, a 50/50 left-to-right and 48/52 front-to-rear balance. Also, the kit is designed with a minimized chassis roll for better handling and a more balanced driving feel. Tests have shown that dual 2S packs and a 2200Kv motor will accelerate the car to speed of up to 85km/h while dual 3S packs and a 2200Kv motor can accelerate the car to over 115km/h, which is exceeding that of most nitro cars.

The kit also includes two Titan ultra-high speed fans and a solid fan mount while the suspension components are taken over from the nitro version. The drivetrain retains the same 3-belt system as the GP R8.0, while the side belt has been moved down to the center line of the chassis. Both the belts and pulleys have been taken over from the nitro-powered car to make stocking parts easy. Also, multiple lightweight items have been used to reduce the weight of this kit. Specifically, the steel ball ends of the GP version have been replaced by aluminum ball ends. ARC has announced that in the future nitro-version owners can try out electric power or to continue with practice in the off season.
