How are the TopCad Beadlock Wheels? Anyone?

"From the moment I first opened the package from AsiaTees.com, containing the 1.9 TopCad High Mass aluminum wheels, I knew I was going to like what I was seeing. My first impression was focused on the details of the wheel design right down to the center cap. In other words, my first impression was positive, knowing I had made the right decision on the wheel choice. I knew the Beadlock wheels were aluminum, but for some reason the package seemed a little heavy. Turns out the center ring (part that goes inside the tire) is steel, smart! This adds weight right where you want it.

Mounting tires onto the high mass wheels was easy with TopCad’s design. Five stainless screws holds the entire wheel and tire together. These are screwed into the rear of the wheel keeping the front very clean and scale. Speaking about scale, the axle wheel nut is covered with a aluminum cap and 5 more stainless screws. This gives the impression of wheel nuts for that little extra attention to scale detail.

I did have to trim about 1/8 inch from the stock Axial axle wheel shafts (the part where the wheel nut screws onto) in order to screw the center cap onto the wheel. This can be done with a hacksaw without removing the axles from your SCX10 and took me about 10 minutes to complete.

Overall, the 1.9 aluminum High Mass beadlock wheels (part #22468) are worth the price and for me, it was nice to have another option when it comes to 1.9 beadlocks without having to spend hundreds. The wheels feel great and perform well…and look awesome on my Jeep!
