PRODUCT INFORMATION:
  • The Zakspeed Ford Capri Turbo Group 5 car featured a 1,427cc four-cylinder DOHC engine matched with a stretched body that was the result of extensive wind-tunnel testing and was far evolved from the original 2-door Capri road version. It was a participant in the German Racing Championship (DRM) from 1978, and in 1982 a version of the car in distinctive orange Jägermeister livery came home in 3rd at the Nürburgring and 2nd in Salzburg, the fifth race of the season. Now, the machine is recreated by this 1/10 scale factory finished R/C model. The wide and low form is accurately reproduced in polycarbonate, including the big overhanging front/rear fenders, and the body is pre-painted in distinctive orange with sponsor logos and other markings applied. Gold-colored mesh wheels are 2-piece, with the rear pair wider than those at the front.

The bathtub frame of the shaft-driven 4WD TT-01 Type-E features the motor and battery mounted close to the ground for lower center of gravity and optimum balance. A fiberglass-reinforced nylon upper deck and gear covers improve rigidity, while a 3-piece tie rod provides smooth steering action. The low center of gravity, balanced design, 4-wheel double wishbone suspension system, and front and rear differential gears all come together to result in superb driving characteristics. The chassis comes equipped with an electronic speed controller (ESC) for smooth throttle control.

In addition to the painted body, this item also includes a wheel-type transmitter, battery pack and charger to allow instant enjoyment of driving. (*Battery pack and charger are included for Japan market only.) The 2.4GHz transmitter eliminates the need for frequency crystals, and is factory-paired with the receiver in the model to ensure that the receiver communicates with that transmitter only. Transmitter features detachable grip covers to match your hand size as well as a throttle trigger cover to increase the size of the throttle trigger for easier operation.

    • Length: 488mm
    • Width: 205mm

First In Quality Around the World
First In Quality Around the World
Since its start with educational wooden models in 1948, Tamiya has unswervingly striven to be "First in Quality Around the World". This refers not only to quality with respect to products, but also to its dedication to the hobby industry as a whole. From the planning, design, mold construction, molding, and packaging to the various forms of graphic design found on the packaging, assembly manuals, etc., Tamiya's in-house manufacturing process allows for attention to detail indispensable for the pursuit of hobby excellence.

The phrase "Tamiya Standard" has come to be used among modeling enthusiasts the world over to describe the high level of quality unique to Tamiya. In fact, Tamiya's scale models possess such intricate detail that they are often described by modelling connoisseurs as "museum items". This stalwart commitment to total quality has launched Tamiya to the forefront of the world's hobby industry, and continues to promise an exciting future.

It all started in 1946, when Mr. Yoshio Tamiya, the founder, opened a saw mill and lumber business in Shizuoka. Tamiya ventured into modeling in 1948, with a scale wooden ship model kit. Since then, Tamiya has continued to grow, producing models known as "First in Quality Around the World".

In 1976, Tamiya entered the RC market with their first RC model, the Porsche 934 Turbo RSR. Now, having just passed the 30th Anniversary of the first Tamiya RC model, they are sold in markets both within the country and worldwide.

Tamiya America, Inc. sponsors the annual Tamiya/Con model contest and the Tamiya Championship Series races (TCS). TCS races are held monthly at venues around the country and culminate in the National Championship Event which is held once a year at the Tamiya America raceway that resides immediately adjacent to the distribution and administrative center. all the Tamiya products are available here at the largest online RC store.
