Kyosho has avoided direct competition against their biggest competitor, Tamiya, in the hobby grade RC cars market since the 1980s, where Tamiya was the most active brand, instead, Kyosho were focusing on designing professional 1/8 scale racing buggies, Mini-Z series, and RC helicopters; areas in which Kyosho dominates today.
