  • This electric radio control car assembly kit features a classic style inspired by American panel vans of the 1950s. The rounded volume of the hood, uniquely shaped tire housings, and low-positioned headlights and grille create a funky atmosphere. The body is made of polycarbonate with a rounded and voluminous hood, uniquely shaped tire housings, and low-positioned headlights and grille that give the car a funky mood.  The pumpkin illustration and car name logo are set as stickers. Gold/black/blue pinstripes are also provided to accent the body. The chassis is the GF-02, a gear-driven 4WD chassis that uses gears for front and rear power transmission. The suspension with friction dampers and large-diameter tires make for dynamic performance on pavement and off-road terrain.

The GF-02 chassis is a gear-driven 4WD chassis featuring a light and strong monocoque frame with the motor mounted low in the center of the frame and power transmitted to the front and rear wheels via gears. The long wheelbase and wide-tread chassis configuration allow for stable off-road driving. The frame features a slim, three-dimensional shape reminiscent of a ladder/pipe. The gear case is integrated into the frame and sealed to prevent the intrusion of small stones and other debris. Front and rear differential gears are built in for smooth cornering. In addition, three different gear ratios can be selected with the optional pinion gear, and a motor guard is provided for reliability when driving off-road. Suspension is a double wishbone with 4 independent wheels. A total of four friction dampers are set in the front and rear, and equal-length, two-part tie rods provide quirky handling characteristics. Deep-rimmed one-piece wheels are fitted with large-diameter tires made of hollow rubber with a diameter of 123 mm.

    Features:
    • This retro-style van body is made of polycarbonate. The appearance of an American classic car has been reproduced with full realism.
    • The thick hood, lovely round headlights, and linear grille create a humorous front mask.
    • Side steps flanked by bulging front and rear fenders. The squash (pumpkin) illustration that gave the car its name is also noteworthy.
    • The rear style is based on the image of a double swing-open gate, a characteristic of panel vans of the 1950s. The doorknob, keyhole, and rear bumper are reproduced by stickers.
    • Long wheelbase and wide tread chassis configuration. In addition to its excellent running stability, the big tires provide a high level of durability on rough terrain.
    • The GF-02 is a 4WD chassis with a motor mounted in the center of the monocoque frame that transmits power to the front and rear wheels via gears. Front and rear differential gears provide smooth cornering.
    • The steering servo is set on the left side of the chassis, and equal-length, 2-split tie rods provide smooth control characteristics.
    • Front double wishbone suspension with friction dampers.
    • Double wishbone rear suspension as well as the front. Screw holes are provided on the left side of the chassis for fixing servos when converting to 4WS.
    • White deep-rimmed wheels with large-diameter 123 mm lug-pattern tires. With ample road clearance, the car offers a dynamic ride.

First In Quality Around the World
First In Quality Around the World
Since its start with educational wooden models in 1948, Tamiya has unswervingly striven to be "First in Quality Around the World". This refers not only to quality with respect to products, but also to its dedication to the hobby industry as a whole. From the planning, design, mold construction, molding, and packaging to the various forms of graphic design found on the packaging, assembly manuals, etc., Tamiya's in-house manufacturing process allows for attention to detail indispensable for the pursuit of hobby excellence.

The phrase "Tamiya Standard" has come to be used among modeling enthusiasts the world over to describe the high level of quality unique to Tamiya. In fact, Tamiya's scale models possess such intricate detail that they are often described by modelling connoisseurs as "museum items". This stalwart commitment to total quality has launched Tamiya to the forefront of the world's hobby industry, and continues to promise an exciting future.

It all started in 1946, when Mr. Yoshio Tamiya, the founder, opened a saw mill and lumber business in Shizuoka. Tamiya ventured into modeling in 1948, with a scale wooden ship model kit. Since then, Tamiya has continued to grow, producing models known as "First in Quality Around the World".

In 1976, Tamiya entered the RC market with their first RC model, the Porsche 934 Turbo RSR. Now, having just passed the 30th Anniversary of the first Tamiya RC model, they are sold in markets both within the country and worldwide.

Tamiya America, Inc. sponsors the annual Tamiya/Con model contest and the Tamiya Championship Series races (TCS). TCS races are held monthly at venues around the country and culminate in the National Championship Event which is held once a year at the Tamiya America raceway that resides immediately adjacent to the distribution and administrative center. all the Tamiya products are available here at the largest online RC store.
