PRODUCT INFORMATION:
  • This radio-controlled model assembly kit recreates the Volkswagen Golf II GTI 16valve. The kit is based on the beginner friendly and highly customizable MB-01 chassis, which allows hobbyists to grow as their driving and building skills develop. Like the full-size car it depicts, the chassis configuration on the MB-01 chassis is set up in the front motor, front drive configuration for unparalleled realism.

For a limited time only: The limited-edition version of the kit includes the polycarbonate body pre-painted in Bright Red (PS-34) with Smoke (PS-31) windows, pre-cut wheel arches and pre-made body mount holes, which is great for not only beginners but also R/C veterans.

    About the Golf II 16V
The FF drivetrain Golf is one of Volkswagen’s most iconic cars. From its first appearance in 1974, Volkswagen Golf continued to develop and lead the worldwide compact car class. In 1986, the Golf II GTI 16V was added to the second-generation model Golf II lineup which had made its debut in 1983. With a 1,781cc inline-4 DOHC 16-valve engine, a tuned car took part in global rally races, and in the U.S. became a fan favorite hatchback of the 1980’s era.

    About the MB-01 chassis
The compact, 2WD MB-01 chassis gives a choice of three types of wheelbases, and a front- or rear- wheel drive system. Without removing battery pack, motor, and R/C equipment setups from the center frame, simply change attachment directions of final gears and steering linkage to switch between front- and rear-wheel drive; low or high motor position can be chosen for rear-wheel drive cars. The 4-wheel double wishbone suspension features symmetrical structure and friction dampers. Unitized sections such as motor mount, final gears and suspension facilitate ease of assembly and effective maintenance.

    Features:
    • 1/10 scale R/C model assembly kit. Length: 383mm, width: 170mm, height: 138mm. Wheelbase: 239mm (Long).
    • Polycarbonate body pre-painted in Bright RED (PS-34) with windows painted in Smoke (PS-31).
    • Separate plastic parts molded in black realistically depict side mirrors and bumpers.
    • Separate transparent parts capture headlights and taillights.
    • Porous dish wheels are paired with radial tires.
    • Includes 540-Type Torque Tuned brushed motor and Hobbywing produced ESC.
    • Required to complete: 2-channel radio, steering servo, 7.2-7.4volt battery with compatible charger.
  • Package total weight: 1960.00 grams (incl. packaging)
  • Package size: 23.00 x 47.00 x 20.00cm

First In Quality Around the World
First In Quality Around the World
Since its start with educational wooden models in 1948, Tamiya has unswervingly striven to be "First in Quality Around the World". This refers not only to quality with respect to products, but also to its dedication to the hobby industry as a whole. From the planning, design, mold construction, molding, and packaging to the various forms of graphic design found on the packaging, assembly manuals, etc., Tamiya's in-house manufacturing process allows for attention to detail indispensable for the pursuit of hobby excellence.

The phrase "Tamiya Standard" has come to be used among modeling enthusiasts the world over to describe the high level of quality unique to Tamiya. In fact, Tamiya's scale models possess such intricate detail that they are often described by modelling connoisseurs as "museum items". This stalwart commitment to total quality has launched Tamiya to the forefront of the world's hobby industry, and continues to promise an exciting future.

It all started in 1946, when Mr. Yoshio Tamiya, the founder, opened a saw mill and lumber business in Shizuoka. Tamiya ventured into modeling in 1948, with a scale wooden ship model kit. Since then, Tamiya has continued to grow, producing models known as "First in Quality Around the World".

In 1976, Tamiya entered the RC market with their first RC model, the Porsche 934 Turbo RSR. Now, having just passed the 30th Anniversary of the first Tamiya RC model, they are sold in markets both within the country and worldwide.

Tamiya America, Inc. sponsors the annual Tamiya/Con model contest and the Tamiya Championship Series races (TCS). TCS races are held monthly at venues around the country and culminate in the National Championship Event which is held once a year at the Tamiya America raceway that resides immediately adjacent to the distribution and administrative center. all the Tamiya products are available here at the largest online RC store.
