[VIDEO] Watch A 3D-Printed Car Go 100mph

The current record for the fastest R/C car on earth is 202.02mph. Set just in October of last year by Nic Case’s R/C Bullet, it may not stand for much longer thanks to British enthusiast and R/C speed freak James Beswick. Beswick has managed to get his R/C – nickamed Project CHASER, up to an eye-wateringly fast 133mph, and will continue modifying until he breaks the coveted 202 record.

3D printing is all the rage right now in the world of prototyping, toys, and hobby R/C, but very few people have gone to the length of printing an entire bodyshell. Beswick is an exception. Thanks to 3D printing his bodyshell in one piece, there are fewer seams in his overall build, cutting air resistance. No Lexan here - the bodyshell is made of PLA and PHA materials and reinforced to cut down on the deforming that happens to plastic when cars breach 100mph.

Running an MGM COMPRO X2-Series PRO ESC and a LMT 2240 Lehner motor, watch CHASER hit 100mph without breaking a sweat. Video by Ultimaker.
