Professional Review - GPM SCX10 Axle Housing

"When I first seen the GPM axle housing (gear box) I was impressed even before taking them out of the package. These axle housing feel great, look great and match the stock SCX10 axle housings closely. Swapping the parts from your current stock plastic axle housing over to these aluminum housings should be a breeze.

The downside for me, besides the price, was the fact that removal of the post for the servo mount is not possible without cutting. When using a CMS (Chassis mounted servo) system, it's nice to be able to remove said post.

The housing seems strong and at the same time light in weight. These are a perfect upgrade to create your own look for your SCX10 by selecting the color you want from the choices GPM offers. This review is based on a black axle housing and an orange axle housing. Both colors I have looked great and the color really helps these axles stick out from a crowd.

If I could recommend two changes it would be the main screws (4 near the pumpkin); - The bottom 2 screws should be screwed into the rear (output section) instead of the front section. Basically thread the output side and countersink the opposite side. - The top screws (to hold the 4 link bar) should be countersunk into the axle to match the bottom screws (based on my first suggest changed).

Just like stock SCX10 axle housing, these will work with the front or rear. And again, just like the stock SCX10 axle housing, if a 6x6 build is in your future, the GPM Racing products axle housing (gear box) will work for the center axle based on the same modification (two output side put together). A 6x6 with aluminum axles, can you imagine how cool that would look!"
