HPI Sprint 2 Necessities

I bet you've seen a lot of cars just like Sprint 2 that come from huge brands and you can find tons of good reviews for them on the internet. Still, there are parts you can get in order to have a fully professional-level of control in the car. Let's check them out one by one.

First of all, you will want to get yourself a decent charger, because the one within the RTR package takes about six hours to charge it. For many drivers, that's a pretty long period. And a decent charge is not that expensive, but it can help you go back to the track much sooner. Later you will see why I put the charger in the first place when you racing it.

Another thing about this car is that it requires a relatively high-standard-field when you race it. The chassis plate under the car is a plastic one. That's not a big problem since basically all the RTR cars are equipped with plastic chassis. However, from whichever picture of Sprint 2 you will see that it has a very low chassis, which means if you live in a place where the street is not perfectly smooth or the pavement has not been changed for a long time, and then your Sprint 2 will get scratches every two seconds. The car may also bounce when riding because it does not have so much suspension. So if you are going to play with it a lot and you don't have a flat field to go to, you might want to change its chassis to an aluminum one first, just like the orange color aluminum parts that are already on the car.

Maybe I should bring this up before the chassis and right after the charger. Yes, the motor. Personal advice is that please never use a motor with a super high KV number. Anything over 7700 KV is way too much. Please don't even think about 9000 KV motor, not much use for drifting. The Sprint 2 is naturally rear end whippy. A 5700 KV motor is about the right number or a little less, for example 4000 KV, is okay too. Too much power will give you a hard time to keep the car in control.

After all HPI Sprint 2 has a very solid platform. If you are still new to this car, no need to rush changing all the parts on it, you can order some spare ones though so you will be able to change the broken ones right away. Need examples? I know one fifth of the drivers will vote for swing shafts!
