Some Prototype Pictures Of MST RMD

Although everyone is saying that this is a copy of the Yokomo YD2, well it looks very similar in layout such as the servo, battery, motor and gearbox. A lot of cars are built very similar but you wouldn’t say they are all copies unless everything is exactly the same. MST has used very similar configurations in how things are laid out, but all of the parts are redesigned and with a few differences.

To start out, it has different ways that you adjust the Ackerman allowing drivers to adjust the steering to suite them. The steering wiper arm is also adjustable so the servo can be moved to different positions to help with adjusting the weight distribution. Moving further back, the motor mount is designed so that you can use the same mount for a centered low gravity or centered high gravity setup. This I find is a bonus as you don’t have to go out and purchase a different motor mount for a different setup. All these adjustments allow the drivers a wide range of setups for different driving styles.

Finally the gearbox uses totally different types of gears. MST RMD has the flexibility to adjust to different gear ratios unlike the YD2 which is a fixed gear ratio. It is going to be interesting to see this in action when it gets produced. The estimated time of arrival for this RMD chassis will be around June time but stay tuned for further information and updates on this chassis on ATees.com.
