Tamiya Mini 4WD Making a Comeback

A mini 4WD is any miniature model within the mini scale of between 1/20 (1:20) to 1/48 (1:48) scale.[1] Currently, in 2014, the term is popularized predominately by a 1/32 (1:32) scaled, AA battery powered plastic model race car without remote control. Let's take a look at the lineup.

1. Mini 4WD PRO
These exciting Mini 4WD PRO machines each features a dual-shaft motor that drives both the front and rear wheels for optimum power transmission efficiency. With a battery and motor layout that emphasizes good balance, the chassis is a perfect base to install the wide range of available performance-enhancing Grade-Up Parts. Two R6/AA/UM3 batteries are separately required.

2. Super Mini 4WD
Tamiya's Mini 4WD racing expertise is fully packed in the "Super Mini 4WD" machines. Track-proven components such as speed tuned gears, large diameter wheels and slick tires, etc. are standard. Require an electric motor and two UM3 (AA) size batteries for operation (not included).

3. Aero Mini 4WD
Aerodynamically sculptured body shell is combined with Tamiya's latest Mini 4WD chassis mechanics. The Aero Mini 4WD car models feature track proven shaft-drive full-time 4WD mechanics and other competition oriented specifications. Quick release motor housing is efficient while tuning. Requires a 130 type electric motor and two UM3 (AA) size batteries for operation (not included).

4. Mighty Mini 4WD
Speeding thrills and racing excitements can be had with Tamiya's small but sophisticated motorized models of "Mighty Mini 4WD" series. High efficiency shaft driven 4WD mechanics is incorporated in these pocket-size models. The cars' wide tread and long wheelbase provide excellent stability during running. Comes with large diameter wheels and racing slicks for increased top speed. Requires a 130 type electric motor and two UM3 (AA) size batteries for operation (not included).

5. Mechnical Mini 4WD
Mini 4WD Mechanical Series has brought a totally new concept in Tamiya's Mini 4WD stable. These static display models have a highly detailed chassis and interior parts, steerable front wheels and transparent body take you to the precision model world. No glue is required for assembly.

6. Mini 4WD Limited Edition
Available during certain periods of time, the Limited Editions Mini 4WD are collectors' items.
