SkyRC D100 ACDC Charger Review
Upon opening the box, I found a generous assortment of plugs along with an AC cable and DC cable. While the charger is fairly small, it is not light and I noted that it was slightly heavier then my Orion Dual Charger. It seems 90% of chargers these days use the same software, while this one is slightly different, I found it to be intuitive and I was up and running in no time. The charger includes a feature that I have been wanting for for quite a while but have never seen, which is a “fast balance charge” mode. I have noticed that most of the charging happens in the first 10-15 minutes, after that the amps typically drop and the charger spends another 10 minutes charging at 1 amp or less. While you likely need every ounce of juice you can get for stock racing, in modified (which I typically run) that last 5% or .2 extra volts is not going to make a difference. I need to play with this feature more and do some thorough testing, but this is definitely a long awaited feature and a nice surprise for me. So far here is the pros and cons of the D100:
Pros:
Cons:
Overall: I am really happy with this charger. It's not a fancy/flashy charger, but it charges and balances without a hiccup. The additional charge modes are a nice feature and at the very least gives you something new to play with. If you’re looking for a “what you see is what you get” charger, this may be the ticket for you.
