Axial Yeti XL Review!
While the Axial Yeti is still very new, Axial has recently announced that they will be releasing an even larger scale of the Yeti. This is the first attempt for Axial to get into the large scale market. There aren't many 1/8 rock racers out there aside from the Redcat 1/8 Rockslide and Gmade's 1/8 series to compete with the Axial Yeti XL. So it will definitely be one of a kind and Axial is testing the water of the large scale RC market.
Being a large scale RTR made for offroad, the Yeti and Yeti XL are water resistant with a top speed at 50+ mph. It has a street price at $699.99. It comes assembled and labeled as RTR, but from BigSquidRC's review, you will need an additional two 2S or two 3s Lipos to go for the full power experience. The biggest concern that it has is the difficulty to navigate sharp corners, perhaps it has a weak servo or bad servo saver. But other than the steering problem, it is a tank that can take tons of damage. It has great power for jumps and bash around. No major part was broken from the long bashing session. And it does have a great rating for its scale look and details that was designed onto the rock racer. One important point to mention is that the Axial XL is huge, nearly as big as the Baja 5B.
