FAA Announces UAS Registration Rule

This registration process is a statutory requirement for all aircraft. This rule will require all and any owner of a small UAS to register their model aircraft, no later than February 19, 2016. Any owner of other UAS purchased for use as a model after December 21st, 2015, must register before their first flight outdoors. So FPV Pilots, look out!

The registrant will need to provide their name, home address, and email address. Upon completion of this registration process, the web application will generate a certificate of aircraft registration, or proof of ownership that includes a unique identification number for the UAS owner. This will also have to be marked on the aircraft.

Normally, the registration fee will be $5, but from December 21st till January 20th, the fee is waived. Check out the full list of rules here. If you need to register, check out the link here.
