Boom Racing BRX01 AWB Link 1/10 Chassis With ZIL Pickup Hardbody
BRX01 Evolution: From Trail Legend to the New BRX01 AWB Link
When the original Boom Racing BRX01 launched in 2019, it didn’t just introduce a new truck. It changed the direction of the brand. What began as an in-house project under Asiatees Hobbies quickly captured attention, transforming Boom Racing into a standalone leader in the scale truck industry.
From the very beginning, our mission has been clear: to advance the performance of scale hardbody trucks by designing the chassis and body together from the ground up. Every line, contour, and component serves a purpose, blending realism with capability.
Six Years Later: Enter the BRX01 AWB Link
Six years on, the evolution continues. Boom Racing has unveiled the next chapter in the BRX story, the BRX01 AWB Link.
“AWB” stands for Adjustable Wheelbase, reflecting the growing trend toward modular and customizable builds inspired by the accessibility of 3D printing. The chassis offers adjustable wheelbase options between 265mm and 285mm / 10.4" to 11.2" straight out of the box. With optional parts, builders can extend the wheelbase up to 325mm / 12.8" (for now), giving complete control over stance, proportion, and performance.

The first BRX01 with the ZIL hit the trails under Kronik’s hands, and a vision was born.
Adjustable Features
The fully adjustable chassis system is achieved with adjustable rear lower links that can be lengthened to fine-tune wheelbase and suspension geometry to suit your build.
The 7mm Billet Aluminum Adjustable Rails are precision-machined from solid billet aluminum for exceptional rigidity. Unlike traditional adjustable C-channel rails, these join seamlessly without flex or play, ensuring structural strength.
The spline shafts with dual M4 set screws ensure the assembly stays firmly in place. With a little loctite, they're not moving anywhere.
KUDU CVD Driveshafts provide up to 20mm of travel out of the box, offering both strength and smooth articulation across the full range of motion.

Optional Parts for Extended Wheelbase Beyond 285mm / 11.2"
For builders who want to stretch beyond the standard configuration (up to 325mm / 12.8"), the following parts are required:
-
A pair of longer rear chassis rails (XL or 2XL, extending by 20mm / 0.8" each)
-
A pair of longer rear lower extended spline shafts (62mm or 82mm versions, stock is 42mm)
-
A longer rear KUDU CVD 116 driveshaft (covers full length from 285-325mm / 11.2"-12.8")
As of this writing, the 2XL rear rails, extended spline shafts and KUDU CVD 116 driveshaft are still in production. We’ll provide a detailed wheelbase conversion guide once these components become available.

Beefy adjustable aluminum rails and stainless steel links - no messing around on the trails!
Spotlight: ZIL Hardbody Pickup
Now let’s focus on the BRX01 AWB Link with the ZIL Hardbody Pickup, a design that captures the rugged character of 1950s-era pickup trucks.
Highlights include:
-
Two-piece ABS hardbody design – The cab and bed are separate units, allowing flexible mounting configurations. You can run the cab alone (from 265mm / 10.4" to 285mm / 11.2") or as a full pickup at 267mm / 10.5"
-
Full opening door, hood, and tailgate
- Full LED light buckets included
-
Battery box included in the bed
- Rubber mirrors

The cab and bed are built as two separate sections, allowing versatile mounting options and complete control over your setup.
The FLEX is real
Three years is a long wait for a new linked chassis from Boom Racing, but the AWB Link makes it worth every second. Trail performance is back, and it looks better than ever.

We were out running and testing her in the Sonoran Desert, life can't beat that!
Final Verdict
The BRX01 AWB Link represents more than just an update. It is a new platform for creators, builders, and trail enthusiasts who want to customize every aspect of their rig.
Stay tuned for our in-depth wheelbase conversion guide and the release of the longer components. The next evolution of BRX engineering is here: built to adapt, engineered to perform.
